Basic Multi Deck Strategy

A blackjack strategy is a set of rules that when given a pair of cards and the dealer up card responds with a hit or stay. Memorizing and sticking to a strategy will minimize the house advantage. Card counting tracks the house advantage. A blackjack strategy used along with a card counting method is the only way to beat the house.

Blackjack strategies will vary based on the rules of the casino, the main elements to watch for are:

• number of decks in use - 4, 6 or 8
• is surrender allowed
• can the dealer stand on soft 17
• can you double after a split
• can you double on any card or just the 9, 10 or 11

You should strive to memorize the strategy so you know what to do in any situation.
